Building and Construction Products
Carmean Limeworks produces a range of white limestone aggregates for the building and construction industries. Though chalk, the overlying Antrim Plateau Basalts have baked and recrystallised it into a hard and durable limestone. (Product illustration scale bar = 1cm)
Products range from aggregates for rough casting and white concrete, to sand for white renders. We supply bulk product to the trade. Aggregates can be supplied by bulk tipper load, mini-bulk 1 tonne tote bag, or 25kg palletised bags. For large orders, bags can be printed with the customer's name and logo. Sands and powders are supplied in bulk tanker, 1 tonne mini-bulk bag, or 25kg palletised bags. Please speak to a member of our sales team for full details of prices, delivery etc.
Products for the building and construction sectors are as follows:
Building stone and rockery rock: Size: as cut or trimmed by specialist. Clean slabby white limestone for building natural stone walling, or for use as a rockery stone. Supplied to the Heritage industry.
Decorative limestone chippings: Size: 10/14 mm. For use as white aggregate to produce white concrete and for assorted decorative purposes. Available in 25 kg bags and bulk tipper loads.
Rough-casting stone: Size: 6.3/10 mm. Screened and washed chippings for use in dashing exterior walls. Available in all-white limestone or white limestone blended with 10% black or red coloured stone. Available in 25 kg bags. Bulk tipper loads available by prior arrangement.
Wet dash: Size: 4/6 mm. White limestone grit for use in exterior wall rendering. Available in 25 kg bags. Bulk tipper loads available by prior arrangement.
Slap dash: Size: 2/4 mm. White limestone grit for use in exterior wall rendering. Available in 25 kg bags. Bulk tipper loads available by prior arrangement.
White mortar sand: Size: 0/1mm. White limestone sand used to make white mortar. Available in 25 kg bags, 1 tonne bags or bulk tipper loads
Limestone filler: Size: ground limestone substantially passing 0.063 mm sieve. Used in the production of hot rolled asphalt. Available in bulk tanker loads only.
Other products stocked:
Flint grit: Size: 4/6 mm. A dark-coloured flint for mixing with 10 mm chippings for dashing. Available in 25 kg bags.
Hydrated lime: We stock Cloghrennan calcium hydroxide for mixing with limestone sand to produce extra white mortar. Available in 25 kg bags.
Marble chippings: Size: 6.3/10 mm. A top-line chipping for dashing exterior walls. Available in 25 kg bags. Bulk tipper loads by prior arrangement.
